Newsletter Archive - June 2006/1

It's been a while since I last mailed you and if you are a more recent subscriber this will be the first newsletter you've received from me. If you're new welcome and if you're a long time subscriber thanks for hanging around. I have a few bits and pieces of news which I'm now in a position to pass along so please read on.....

New album 'On'

I've been promising it for a while but finally I can officially announce that a new Tasmin Archer album 'On' will be released in September. It will be available in UK shops and available online at the usual e-stores. For those of you outside of the UK who don't have access to UK online stores, until further release arrangements can be made for your part of the world, the album will be available to buy from my online store at tasminarcher.com.

In a forthcoming newsletter I'll be providing a link to a sampler where you can hear excerpts from 'On' and a link to a free mp3 download of one of the tracks so stay posted. More details to follow as I have them.....

Tasmin Archer MySpace profile

Over the last few days I've registered and opened up a MySpace page. My regular website is still being prepared ready for the album release so while we're all waiting for this, and afterwards, MySpace is a great way of communicating directly with me. You can find me here at MySpace. Please pop along and add yourself to my friends, send me a message or leave a comment. Be kind though! I will also be keeping a small blog on there for making various announcements and things and I'll be uploading some of the album tracks to listen to nearer the release. I'll look forward to seeing you there.

Elliott Randall - still reelin'

Recently I had the great honour of being asked by my good friend Elliott Randall to sing one of the tracks on his latest ep project still reelin'. I did a vocal on his cover/remake of Reelin' in the Years, the Steely Dan song that he is so renowned for playing guitar on. I was a little nervous about attempting to sing a song that was so perfectly done originally but I couldn't refuse the opportunity and hopefully I've added a little bit of myself to it.

You can buy the ep from elliott-randall.com or the dowload version from the iTunes music store using this link.

Elliott Randall

Please check it out. There is some amazingly tasteful guitar playing, some great tunes and some wonderful playing from the other first class musicians on all the tracks. You won't regret it!

That's it for now. There'll be more news soon.....

Love and peace

Tasmin
